Big Post (making up for lost time)

Far out, I've done it again, left it far too long between posts. The good news is, I have plenty of pieces to post.

First up, just a few 3.5 x 3.5 b&w tiles. This first one I did to try out Lila Popcheffs pattern 'Violeta'

These bottom three are very much inspired by Helen Williams patterns.
Then there was colour, I just through in a splash of red.

Whoa,  then out came the full pallete of water colours and clearly I didn't hold back. I actually really love how this piece turned out.

up next is the tiles I did for my Facebook groups January Challenge. Two colours & two tangles.
These two have Lilas patterns, 'Trapt' in them. I really love that pattern. So easy and addictive to do.

But wait, there's more. LOL!
These last few are all the A4 size pieces I've done over the last few weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. Please leave a comment if you have any questions. Hope to be back soon xx

I'm baaaack and the masking fluid is flowing all over the place!

Finally uni is over for the year and I have some time to let my creativity out.
For these two pieces I poured masking fluid on the page and let it spread out wherever it wanted.
Once it dried I smeared water colour paint wherever it wanted to go too.
After pulling the masking fluid off I could see the images that created themselves and let the pen take control.

Thank you for being patient. I'm hoping to post regularly till uni starts again next year.

Fun in the Sun

While we have been experiencing the most beautiful, warm, sunny weather, I have been making the most of it, creating in the sun.

I have a few different pieces to show you.
First up is just a little black and white ZIA flower bed.
Yo might notice (or not, lol) that I used my own pattern 'Anteek' in the two tall flowers at the back.

This little angel is brought to you compliments of The Graphics Fairy. I love that site, an amazing selection of images to choose from. I simply ranged away, on and around this little gem. I think she turned out very nicely.

This piece came about because I joined a water colour pencil (wcp) group on Fb.  I have never done much with wcp before this group but I'm glad I joined.  This was the result of the first tutorial.
I won't show you the final photo of this particular piece, I really wasn't happy with the pen embellishment.  Lol!

Aaaaaand,  last and definitely least is this piece. I used masking fluid and acrylic paint.... DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME!!
I should have know the acrylic would peel off with the fluid and I also knew that I cannot embellish with pen over acrylic paint. A definite dislike for me.
This sadly ends my journey with acrylic paint. It's over.  Lol!
I'm sticking with what I know and love, my trusty watercolour paints.

I can't wait to show you my newest venture using masking fluid. A new spin on how I'm using it.

So, until next then, HAPPY TANGLING! xxx

Mixing it up

This week I have used a few different methods in my art adventures. This first one started off with a gelli plate background and developed into a celebration of mine and my brothers cats, Jax and Sas. We call them cousin kitties. Aaaaw, so Cute! This one just kept on growing and growing with embellishments, black felt tip pen and white gel pen.
This next piece is done on a watercolour background with felt tip tangles. I was inspired to use Alaura and it ended up being the focal point.
And finally,  somewhere along the way I managed to do a couple of classic black and white tiles using fescu as the target tangle for a facebook group challenge.

Time to move onto a flower challenge for another facebook group. Will post again soon.
HAPPY TANGLING! xx

It's been a While!

Wow, I have been REALLY slack, haven't posted for quite a while. I have been working on so e art though.

I thought I would try my hand a manga drawing and I may have become slightly addicted. Lol.
I went right back to basics with this one. Was in a ZIA mood and look what fell out onto the paper!
Just a quick update today, will be back with more in the very near future.  Happy creating. Xx

Mixed Media

I have been watching a lot of mixed media videos on YouTube (especially the Gelli Arts channel). I've been inspired to try new things.

I made a gelli plate and did some prints on sticky tape (sounds weird but turned out really well.
I rubbed some silver leaf onto the sticky parts on the back of the tape then stuck it to another piece of paper I had already done some food colouring and glad wrap on with some masking fluid.
Then the drawing started, I found that white gel pen turns out beautifully on top of the tape.

I then decided to use the Gelli plate to do some reverse stamping. Lol! I layered the paint down and stamped onto some old cards I had lying around. I kept layering more and more paint with different patterns and stamped and ghost stamped away.
This is the Gelli plate. Such a great medium to work with

I haven't done a challenge for Joey for a while so here goes. This week Joey wants us to Tangle a tree. I did this a little while ago so thought, why not enter it. I call it 'Weeping Willow on the River Bank', pretty obvious Name!

I've been Creating!

Yep, I certainly am loving my break from uni, I get flustered and excited deciding what I want to do at any given time, draw, paint, crochet, knit, read, it's all very overwhelming. Lol! So, I do a bit of Everything!
Aaaaaw,  how purty!
Pretty soon, I will be wearing all crocheted or knitted items. Bahahaha!
And so will Sassy...... (What? She likes It! )

Playing with water colour is a new favorite of mine, every attempt turns out differently. Love these two.
Aaaaaand (drum roll) COPICS,  I took the plunge, I am in love with these markers. They are so different to any other, the alcohol base makes them behave and react in a unique way to any other marker I've ever used. Will definitely be buying more and playing around a whole Heap!

Playing with Water Colour

Since I have discovered Kathys' blog papernlaceprincess I have become addicted to water colours. They create a wonderful background to Tangle on. The possibilities are endless since every time the colours mix differently and create different shapes on the paper.

Time on my Hands!

Guess who's on uni break? (Happy Dance!) I've been dabbling in a few fun activities over the last couple of weeks.
A bit of black and white ZIA
Playing around with water colours on some post cards.
I've even learned how to crochet......
AND, I'm taking the opportunity to read something fictional.
It would seem that I am definitely not wasting my free time...

Post Card Swap

This is the first of 8 post cards I'm doing for a swap. The theme is my home town. I live near a historic little town called Morpeth. There are many little gems to be found here. From chocolate and fudge tasting, the best lolly shop and the most beautiful river, historic buildings and bridge.
